A new era of Sunrise: What to look for in 25.1

With the release of Sunrise™ 25.1, there are nearly 700 new enhancements to look out for! These new enhancements were designed and implemented with real feedback from current users, clinicians and health IT leaders to enhance workflow efficiency and provide our clients with the most up-to-date tools possible. Recognizing the challenges and barriers many organizations face, we’ve focused on delivering improvements that enable next-level care. Issues like limited provider views, complicated navigation tools, restricted access to patient information as well as tedious, manual entries with claims management and hidden billing requests are all real-life examples of problems we’re committed to solving with the new enhancements in 25.1.

Clinicals: Next-level care, within reach

Nurse and patientIn Sunrise 25.1, users can look forward to enhanced clinical workflows aimed at supporting care teams more effectively. With updates designed to enable clinicians, users will find a redesigned interface in RxWriter, with a compact layout including functional icons on each tab, facilitating intuitive and efficient navigation. With empowering patients as a pillar of our vision, solutions like Sunrise™ CarePath (available to clients on 22.1 this summer) encourage patients to access their health information, 24/7. Our goal is to help patients feel seen and heard during their visit, which is a huge driver in improving their level of satisfaction with their provider. To achieve this, patients need to feel safe and respected. To that end, we’re excited about a notable new feature in 25.1, which introduces fields for preferred names and pronouns. By supporting more personalized and inclusive care, this update not only fosters trust but improves patient satisfaction by acknowledging and honoring individual preferences.

Looking at other care settings, new features in Sunrise™ Ambulatory Care 25.1 introduce cleaner patient management views alongside simplified clinician workflows, resulting in easier access to data and fewer clicks for maximum efficiency. With the schedule-at-a-glance feature, providers can quickly view their schedules while also accessing patient summaries and appointment details with just a single click. Additionally, with Sunrise™ Health Record, we’re delivering a seamless health information management (HIM) system built natively on the Sunrise platform to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.

Financial health, realized

While delivering the highest quality patient care is essential, ensuring the financial health of the hospital is just as important. We’re thrilled to address these challenges with our new billing hub, which features a centralized “one-stop shop” that consolidates billing requests, claims and self-pay into three easily accessible tabs. The latest updates in Sunrise™ Financial Manager 25.1 deliver appeals and denial management automatically during remittance processing, which will minimize delays and expedite reimbursements. In PLB (provider-level billing), 25.1 automates provider-level adjustments in 835 remittances, eliminating the need for manual entry and reducing errors. In doing so, we are alleviating the strain often placed on staff members, which will help drive higher levels of productivity without added burden.

Regulatory

In Sunrise 25.1, along with subsequent PRs, HTI-1 compliance is ensured by including: USCDI v3, the SMART App Launch Implementation Guide v2, the HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide for Electronic Initial Case Report (eICR) Release 2, STU Release 3.1, and Patient Requested Restrictions.
