From D.C. to digital intake: Ditching the clipboard for good

URL Copied!

I recently had the honor of representing Altera Digital Health and Paragon® with two Altera colleagues in Washington, D.C. at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) HealthTech Ecosystem Live! First Wave Launch. Health IT developers, clinicians, patient advocates and federal leaders all convened to share how we can collectively build a digital and truly patient-centric healthcare system.

As part of this effort, the Paragon team has been working diligently to build functionality that will eliminate the need for repetitive, paper-based patient intake. Check out our demonstration of how we will enable patients to securely share their clinical data with providers, right from their personal devices, removing the burdens of memorizing their entire medical histories or carrying charts with them:

Kill the Clipboard is not just about digitizing patient intake, however. It’s the next effort to remove as much friction as possible from the health information exchange process for both patients and providers alike. Heres what I shared about this status quo shakeup at the event:

When patients truly control what information is exchanged and with whom, and when clinicians and their staff can trust that they have a comprehensive view of a patient’s history, everyone involved will be more confident that the care delivered is optimal and cost-effective.
