Advancing interoperability: Altera at the IHE North America Connectathon

URL Copied!

Altera Digital Health recently took part in the IHE North America Connectathon, an event that offers a unique platform for healthcare solutions providers to come together and test the interoperability of their systems in a controlled, collaborative environment. Each year, a diverse group of industry leaders gathers to showcase innovations while emphasizing the importance of seamless data-sharing in healthcare. The Connectathon is not only a great opportunity for testing interoperability, but also for fostering collaboration and expanding professional networks across the industry.

During the event, Altera notably influenced the development of the International Patient Summary (IPS) profile, a global standard for interoperability, using the dbMotion™ Solution. The IPS is vital for facilitating efficient patient summary exchange across borders and between healthcare providers, especially during transitions like referrals or emergency care. Multiple nations, international organizations and health IT suppliers use the IPS as the baseline for summaries, according to HL7 International. Successfully testing the IPS profile with dbMotion ensures we meet industry standards and can operate smoothly across various healthcare settings.

Altera takes great pride in being at the forefront of interoperability efforts, building partnerships and advancing solutions that empower healthcare professionals. Enabling effective information exchange is crucial to improving the quality and safety of care patients receive by helping ensure our clients’ providers make informed care decisions, regardless of where the patient has been or is treated.

The invaluable insights gained from the Connectathon will drive our ongoing development efforts as we continue to enhance our solutions and meet the evolving data needs of healthcare communities worldwide.
